Today’s recipe is one of my favorites — gluten-free, refined sugar-free Lil Debbie Brownies.
Growing up, I loved these brownies. My mom and dad refused to buy them so I would barter them at lunch. I’m not sure why people would trade a brownie for veggies or crackers, but they did every once in a while.
It’s been years since I had one of these. Possibly since middle school actually, but a few weeks ago, while at a gas station I saw them on a shelf and decided I wanted to make them.
So instead of loading up on the sugar, these brownies are gluten-free, refined-sugar-free, yet taste even better than the originals.

While it is baking, heat the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a bowl until softened.

-
Let cool then cut and enjoy!
This recipe is not only gluten-free and refined sugar-free, but it is made with my favorite ingredient – avocado. It makes the brownies extra moist, all while adding some awesome monounsaturated fats.
If you just want to make plain brownies you can make this recipe without the topping, or find my OG avocado brownie recipe here.
I also use these sprinkles from Whole Foods in case you were wondering!
