Peanut Butter Superfood Balls

When I was younger, my friend’s mom used to make peanut butter balls all the time. We had them for birthdays, holidays, and random happy days in-between.

I’m honestly surprised (at myself) that it took me this long to replicate them.

Instead of packing them full of confectionary sugar, I added honey, maple syrup, and some coconut flour to give them a similar taste and texture.

Peanut Butter Balls

If you’re into peanut butter, you’ll be into these. They’re creamy, crunchy, and delicious.

Peanut Butter Balls

  • 1 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp natural maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 1 tbsp ashwagandha from Bare Organics
  • 1 1/2 cup chocolate
  • 2 tbsp coconut sugar
  • pinch coarse sea salt

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix the peanut butter, honey, maple syrup, coconut flour, ashwagandha, and salt. Roll the dough into balls and place in the freezer for about 20 mins.

  2. While the balls are cooling, melt the chocolate and coconut oil over medium heat.

  3. Take the balls out of the freezer, and roll them in the melted chocolate.

  4. Sprinkle a little bit of sea salt on top, and place them back in the freezer. Let them cool for another 30-45 minutes.

  5. Enjoy!

For this recipe, I was honored to partner with my favorite superfood company, Bare Organics. They create all the wonderful superfoods that I use on a daily basis like ashwagandha, reishi, Chaga, and milk thistle.

Why I added Ashwagandha:

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen with powerful healing properties that are crucial to keeping your immune system in line. I use ashwagandha year-round to help manage my stress because it is a great alternative to stress medication. Instead of forcing my body to produce specific hormones, the adaptogen naturally adapts your body chemical make up to where it needs to be.

As someone who has a naturally severe type-A personality, I can subconsciously allow stress to build up. Adding this supplement has done wonders for my health and my day-to-day as it naturally facilitates negative stressors.

Personally, as someone who is extremely type-A and prone to stacking blocks of stress up inside of me, ashwagandha has helped my body to naturally facilitate the stress that often builds inside of me.

I order my adaptogens from BareOrganics. Not only are their supplements great, but they use 100% recyclable, BPA-free and reusable containers — which I love.

As always, let me know if you give this recipe a try! And tag me if you post to social.
