If you’ve been around here for a while, then you know one of the most common hormone disrupters is caffeine. Unfortunately many women are sensitive to this without even really knowing it.
For me, I went years drinking 3-4 cups of coffee a day unaware that I was slowly pushing my body closer and closer to burnout.
If you’re experiencing hormonal imbalance one of the best things you can do for your body is make a change to your diet. While supplementation can be immensely helpful, nutrition and stress management are crucial in nursing your body back to health.
As someone who loves coffee, but minimizes it to keep my hormones in check, giving up coffee altogether sounds heartbreaking. If you’re a coffee lover I’m sure you feel similarly.
Instead of giving up your favorite fall drinks, try switching your caffeine-packed coffee for mushroom coffee. This is a great way to still drink the cup you love, while minimizing hormonal damage.
One of my favorite fall drinks is a pumpkin spice latte, so turning it into a hormone friendly beverage was a no brainer for me. On days where I can feel my body more stressed than others I typically swap out my traditional cup for a cup of hormone supporting mushroom coffee.
So who is this hormone friendly pumpkin spice latte for?
If you’re struggling with hormonal acne, adrenal problems, insomnia, blood sugar imbalances, burnout, or fatigue then making the change away from caffeine and sugar might be beneficial for you and your body.
This hormone friendly pumpkin spice latte is great for anyone on the path to balancing their hormones. This latte can curb your coffee craving while supporting your body with hormone healthy ingredients.

- 1/2 cup Coconut milk or milk of choice
- 1 tbsp MCT oil or coconut butter
- 1 scoop Collagen Peptides
- 1 tbsp Pumpkin purée
- 1 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
Instructions

Heat water and prepare one cup of mushroom coffee.
-
Add mushroom coffee, along with all other ingredients to a blender for 20 seconds.
-
Pour, top with some more pumpkin spice, & enjoy!
If your hormones are fine, and you are confident in your bodies ability to absorb something like caffeine, feel free to switch out the mushroom coffee for regular coffee. My go-to is a single shot of espresso due to its lower caffeine content.
Even if you do make the switch, be sure to keep the other ingredients I listed. Whether you are experiencing hormonal imbalance or not, these ingredients are great for your body.
Hormone Supporting Ingredients
Mushroom Coffee – Mushroom coffee is an excellent exchange for regular coffee. While it certainly tastes a little different than the worlds most beloved drink, it’ll leave your hormones happy. Not only is mushroom caffeine free, but it is also packed with antioxidants and oxidative-stress fighting properties.
I use Ryze Mushroom Coffee which you can check out here.
MCT Oil / Coconut Butter – If you’re not adding MCT Oil or Coconut butter to your coffee, you’re missing out on its creamy addition to your cup. The Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs) help transform cholesterol into pregnenolone, which is a key building block of thyroid and sex-hormone creation too.
Ashwagandha – My personal favorite adaptogen, and the most widely used, ashwagandha is a great addition to any drink. It works wonders as it strengthens the immune system while strengthening all forms of stamina. It is a hormonal balancer that is good for both males and females.
If you’re new to adaptogens, check out my post on them here!
Cinnamon – Helps balance blood sugar out naturally and tastes good. 🙂
Collagen Peptides – Not only do collagen peptides make your drink frothy and creamy but they provide your body with amino acids. They are also a great way to get in protein, which is key in supporting hormone health.
Blend all these ingredients together and voila, you have a creamy, dreamy hormone balancing pumpkin spice latte.
I hope you enjoy this yummy pumpkin spice alternative as much as I do! Feel free to shoot me an email or a message on Instagram if you have any questions or just want to talk.
